9-10 a.m.: Pancake Breakfast in MacDowell Center
10 a.m.-noon: Service Projects (as assigned)
About Meadowbrook's Day of Service
In honor of Meadowbrook’s 100th anniversary, we invite you to join us for Meadowbrook’s Day of Service on Saturday, April 6, 2024. This is a unique opportunity for members of the Meadowbrook community to band together to make a positive difference in our local communities.
Service projects (see list below) throughout greater Weston will be led by students and current parents with participation from current family members, alumni, parents of alumni, and faculty.
We invite all volunteers to join us on campus for a pancake breakfast from 9-10 a.m., immediately followed by our community service projects from 10a.m.-noon.
Early registration is encouraged. Free t-shirts will be provided to all participants who register by Friday, March 15.
Registration for the pancake breakfast and service projects are required by completing the form provided below. Please be sure to include t-shirt sizes for all participants.
Service Project Options
Our Day of Service is not a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
When registering, you will be asked to rank the service projects in order of preference. We will make every effort to assign you to your top-ranked project.
In addition to several individual project options, we are offering a unique opportunity to impact multiple organizations, as a family or group, with the Meadowbrook Makers project. Families will rotate through projects for Foster Love—Teen Duffle Bags, Jared Boxes, Spoonfuls, and Off the Rocks Animal Shelter in 30-minute increments.
Transportation
For our Day of Service, participants will have the opportunity to volunteer on campus, or at off-campus sites within a 15-minute drive of Meadowbrook. If you will require transportation from Meadowbrook to your service project, please indicate so on your registration form.
T-shirts
All volunteers will receive a Meadowbrook Centennial Day of Service t-shirt to wear on April 6. On the registration form you can specify how you would like your shirts delivered (directly to your student at school or pick up yourself from Meadowbrook). These environmentally conscious tees use recycled materials to create a comfortable blended fabric that dries faster and shrinks less than 100% cotton products. It’s the perfect match for groups like ours that want to show community spirit while minimizing their environmental footprint.
Questions?
For more information on our Centennial Day of Service, please contact Jeff LaValley, Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement at (781) 314-9248 or [email protected].
In addition to volunteering on April 6, we are kindly asking all Grades, JK-8, and Faculty to help secure needed items for several on-campus projects during the Day of Service. These donation drives will support three partnering organizations: Hope & Comfort, Foster Love: Teen Duffle Bags, and Jared Boxes.
