Clothing- At Meadowbrook, children wear the same type of play clothes they would wear at home. A full list of supplemental clothing and equipment needed will be provided in the spring parents' letter. Lunch- All campers will be eating lunch in the cafeteria in the MacDowell Center this summer. Campers may bring a picnic lunch or purchase one (by the week). The menu and lunch sign-up form is posted under Day Camp Forms. The camp will provide milk at noon for all campers plus a mid-morning and afternoon drink and snack. Ice cream is on the afternoon snack list one day a week. Health- The Meadowbrook Day Camp requires each child to be examined by a doctor within 24 months preceding their attendance at camp. We urge parents to make their children’s doctor appointment NOW upon enrollment as May and June are very busy months in doctors’ offices. You may download a blank health form from this website if you wish using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Doctor’s appointments are required by law to be within 24 months of the opening date of camp and all completed forms MUST be in our files prior to your child beginning camp. There is a licensed nurse or qualified first aider on duty throughout the normal camp day. Transportation- As in past years, Meadowbrook has developed a partnership with an independent firm to provide school bus service to selected towns. Our goal is to arrange for similar service this year. Details will be provided in later materials. A counselor rides each bus, takes attendance and monitors the campers.
AfterCamp-
A supervised extended day program is provided from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday except for the last day of camp. Parents are responsible
for transportation home at the end of the extended hours. |
