JOIN OUR STAFF!  Counselor Application Form

                                Counselor Reference Form

Thank you for your interest in applying for a counselor position at the Meadowbrook Day Camp.  We would like to give you a brief overview of our staffing requirements and process.

Your application will be reviewed upon receipt, and if your qualifications appear to meet our needs, we will contact you about setting up an interview.  Remember to include phone numbers for all your references.  Our Operations Director will be conducting the interviews.

Meadowbrook has three levels of counselors that may be assigned to a camper group:

bullet

Senior Group Counselors are all 21 years or older with some teaching, parenting, or related experience.

bullet

Group Counselors are college age students with a variety of majors and outside interests.

bullet

Junior Group Counselors are high school juniors and seniors.  We have a limited number of openings for Junior Counselors, so if you are not contacted about an interview this year, you may wish to reapply as a college student.

bullet

Our Specialty Counselors are college students or older who have a definite skill in or knowledge about a particular activity: art, archery, boating, ceramics, drama, leathercraft, low ropes, music, newsletter, nature/campcraft, team sports, or water rocketry, for example.  Occasionally we hire a high school or college age counselor to assist a Specialty Counselor.  We like all our swim instructors to be WSI certified as well as LGT certified.  For the past couple of years, we have hosted Red Cross classes (LGT Recert and occasionally a WSI) in June prior to the start of camp.

We offer a CIT program for a limited number of 14 and 15 year olds.  Please call for an application.  Preference is given to former Meadowbrook campers.

We are looking for counselors who like children and who are able to provide a cheerful, nurturing environment for them.  Leadership qualities, dependability, cooperativeness, a sense of humor, sports ability, and enthusiasm are all traits that we value.

Please check below for important camp dates.

Sincerely,
Dan Hanlon, Director
Sue Wright, Operations Director
